About

For the first time in League history, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host outdoor hockey in Florida. Celebrating the explosive growth of hockey in Florida over the last three decades, the League will stage two outdoor games in the Sunshine State during the 2025-26 season starting with the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic featuring the Florida Panthers hosting the New York Rangers at loanDepot park, on Jan. 2, 2026.

The 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic will mark the first-ever NHL regular-season outdoor game for the Panthers and the sixth for the Rangers, who hold an NHL-best 5-0-0 record in outdoor games. The NHL Winter Classic continues the tradition the League established in 2008 of hosting a regular-season outdoor game at the onset of the new year, with the 2026 edition marking the 17th NHL Winter Classic.

  • Bucket List Checked off

    by Greg548 on 2020-01-06Cotton Bowl - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Bucket list item was to see Stars at home. Winter Classic was a bonus! Worth traveling 4000 miles to attend. The whole experience was incredible but the narrow accesses made movement difficult. The history of the Cotton Bowl made up for the shortcomings that go with an old building (vs, modern, spacious corridors). Pre game, opening, mid game, post game events were all awesome. Crowd noise was an unbelievable experience.

  • Winter Classic,1 item scratched of the bucket list

I knew before i got the tickets that the higher you are for a winter classic the better your seats really are. If your low you can't see over the boards. So i got the top row of the second bowl at an end. I thought they were exceptional seats. the whole experience of the winter classic is something i will never forget. The NHL and the Boston Bruins, as well as Gillette Stadium did an amazing job. We were dressed for the cold, and the prices were fair. Ultimately i'd go again if Montreal was in another Winter Classic. We did drive 9.5 hours to see this game. but Definitely glad we did!

  • Had a blast and a win from the Habs in bonus!

In Foxboro, Bruins fans territory. Even whit ours Montréal Candiens shirts, we were welcome in the stadium. Staff was nice. Had a great parking spot Parking5 easy to exit. The show was good, and we won!!!

The atmosphere of the game was very cool!!! I felt venue staff were not as on top of things as they could have been but overall the venue was safe, clean and friendly. This was an amazing event and fun for sure! I will definitely be doing this again.

There were a lot of first with this event for me. First event i attended on New Years day First outdoor hockey game First time in a big football stadium First tail gate My Montreal Canadiens won. Event well organizd, except high price parking; $50.00, way too much.

Check that off the bucket list! Gillette absolutely rocks, just like the Canadiens' 5-1 victory!

  • Part of History Awrsome

Cold but worth it!!! To be there in person was the best tv would not do the event justice. Sad I wasn't able to attend the Stadium Games. Too bad Wings lost but that's hockey. Just wish ticket stub was nicer than just s stub.

  • Winter Classic was amazing!!

Cold day but if you dressed properly you didn't notice. The event was unforgettable! Planning ahead with dinner reservations and cab reservations made a big difference because of the huge volume of people all leaving the stadium at the same time. I would do it again in a second!

  • A bucket list event!
