About

A beloved folk rock singer-songwriter who was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, Paul Simon has become one of the most respected songwriters in rock music. He grew up in Queens, New York and developed an interest in baseball and music at an early age. Along with childhood friend Art Garfunkel, they formed Simon & Garfunkel in 1964 and scored a deal with Columbia Records, releasing their debut Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. They later won ten Grammy Awards and put out four more studio albums including 1966’s Sounds of Silence and 1970’s Bridge Over Troubled Water before parting ways that year. Simon’s self-titled solo album came out in 1972, instilling Latin and reggae flavors into his soft rock in its singles "Mother and Child Reunion" and "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard". 1973’s pop-folk album There Goes Rhymin’ Simon incorporated gospel and R&B and its follow-up, 1975’s Still Crazy After All These Years, reached number one on the Billboard charts and had four Top 40 hits including "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" and "My Little Town" with vocals from Garfunkel. In 1986, Simon released his seventh studio album Graceland, expanding his musical palette by infusing African textures and collaborating with South African musicians including Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which went on to sell over 5 million copies in the U.S. and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. His Brazilian music-tinged The Rhythm of the Saints was released in 1990, achieving commercial and critical success, as well as introducing world music to a broader audience. His latest album, the acclaimed 2011’s So Beautiful or So What was touted as one of the year’s best. He has toured successfully through the years, as a solo artist as well as jaunts with both Bob Dylan and Sting, selling out concerts to ticket holders across the globe.

  • Best Place for a Troubadour's Show

by patrooski on 2025-06-08Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Paul Simon during his "Farewell"tour in an arena/stadium a few years ago. He was very good. To see him in Massey Hall was like attending a small concert for a large performer. The first half was quiet, politely received, and an expert performance. The second half --"hits and deep cuts"-- was comfortable and smile-inducing. He, his band, and the other singers were all top-notch. The ponytailed guitarist who provided all the interludes was magnificent. Paul Simon's voice is still there after all these years. [Meanwhile, I kept getting chastised each of the 4 times I took out my phone to take a memento photo. Who knew?] The only place cozier would be some bar somewhere. Massey Hall was good enough.

  • Glad I got to see him on his last to

Good show in a great venue but Paul is certainly showing his age ,very little energy and not just Paul but his band as well.

Wonderful show put on by a legend backed by several talented musicians. Massey Hall is gorgeous and was the perfect place to experience Paul Simon, an artist we never thought we would be able to see. Sound quality is great. The bar and washroom lines moved quickly during intermission. All in all a 10/10 experience.

What a show! A perfect blend of new and old - auditorily and visually stunning. Such talent and poetry and storytelling. I'm so happy to have been a part of it.

  • Paul Simon Still Rocks!

by JNH on 2025-06-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The iconic Paul Simon did not disappoint. He is still a balladeer extraordinaire. He sang a lot of new songs that have a spiritual bent, as he nears the end of his career. One notable lyric worth repeating: “No one ever died from too much love”. Of course, he also sang some of the wonderful oldies, and got the audience to sing along. It added a great touch to have his talented son play along with him. He is an amazing guitar player. And his lovely wife accompanied him on a few songs. G-d bless Paul Simon and his contribution to the music of our era…may it live on!

  • Dream come true

by Lee on 2025-06-01Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Massey Hall was the perfect venue for this amazing show. A thrill of a lifetime as I thought he’d never tour again. Mr. Simon interacted with the audience and provided a much longer concert than expected. An absolutely incredible experience.

  • Fantastic Show

by Abby on 2025-05-30Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show from start to finish. Seven psalms was very impressive to watch Paul and the band play 35+ minutes straight. Second half of the show was a great blend of deep tracks and hits. Feeling very fortunate to have been able to experience such a performance. Mr. Simon still pours so much into his performance and his art. Could not have asked for a better evening.
