Winnipeg Blue Bombers History

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team that were founded in 1930 as the Winnipeg Rugby Football Club. The team has earned over 20 West Division titles , won 12 Grey Cup Championships and holds the record for most Grey Cup appearances of any team at 29. Over their history, the Blue Bombers have produced six Most Outstanding Player Award winners, including quarterback Zach Collaros in both 2021 and 2022, in addition to numerous CFL All-Stars and Hall of Fame inductees. In 2024, the Blue Bombers led the league in average home attendance and secured their fourth consecutive West Division title.

Princess Auto Stadium has been the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers since 2013. Located on the University of Manitoba campus, the 32,343-seat, partially-covered stadium was originally built as a modern replacement for Canad Inns Stadium. The Blue Bombers played their first home game at the stadium on June 27, 2013 against the Montreal Alouettes. Princess Auto Stadium is set to host the 112th Grey Cup in 2025.
